Today I spent the early afternoon with my mother-in-law,
trying to figure out her fax machine.
Normally I bring the paperwork to her and “poof”, the fax is sent. Not today.
I never mess with this machine because I am convinced that it hates me,
so as usual, my mother-in-law got everything set up and tried to send a
fax. For some strange reason the paper
kept jamming. This is something I would
expect to happen to me, not her. Maybe I
shouldn’t have stood so close. After
fifteen minutes of messing around and restarting the machine, we finally got
the fax sent. “Great mom, let me show
you this one…Oh no!” All of a sudden I
realized that I had sent the wrong papers.
I quickly ran home and raced back with the right ones. I would love to say that I am exaggerating
about how long it took us to get the darn machine to send the fax, but I am not: forty-five frustrating minutes. At least I am can be happy we chose to have a
good laugh about the craziness and not let it ruin our day. It would have been great to be a fly on the
wall when the secretary on the other end of 408-2xx-39xx saw the craziness
faxing through. I am sure that she could
not figure what was going on with our end.
Maybe she thought we were interns on our first day. After that experience, however much we
laughed it off, I needed a fast meal plan.

Steak and Montreal Steak
seasoning.
The most
important thing about a steak is that it has some fat/marbling running through
the meat. If you by a steak that does
not have it, the steak will most likely be very dry. Take notice of how the more expensive cuts
usually have a good piece of fat along the side and white streaks through the
middle. That means the steak will have a
good taste and be juicy. If you are not
cooking steak on the grill, try using a ridged griddle. It’s great for cooking steaks; I think that
somehow, a regular frying pan ruins the flavor.
