Burning Stuffed Peppers / Sweet Peppers

All peppers are not created equal, and not everything that looks innocent is harmless.  Today I ran to the Mediterranean Island, an international store near my home, to buy some banana peppers, farmer’s cheese and mint.  On the vegetable shelf there were packages of green, yellow, orange and red peppers on sale.  I decided to buy some for dinner.  What I did not realize was that the store mixed the sweet peppers with some of the hottest peppers I’ve ever eaten.  I innocently cleaned the peppers and removed all the seeds.  I love peppers, so I put a piece in my mouth raw.  BIG mistake!  My lips felt as if someone was holding a match to them, and my mouth was on fire.  I quickly grabbed the loaf of French bread and ripped a piece off to cool my mouth.  That did not work, so I tried drinking water which did not work either.  In the end, I stuck my mouth under the faucet and let water run on my lips.  I didn’t think to wash my hands, and used my computer after cleaning the peppers from Hell.  Believe it or not, three hours later, the oils on my keyboard made my fingers burn, so I had to get out the cleaner.  My eyes are even getting twitchy.  From now on I will only buy peppers that are marked “sweet” on the package.

Put one package of farmer’s cheese in a bowl.  Add two eggs, two crushed cloves of garlic, onion, salt, pepper and paprika.  Stir until all the ingredients are mixed evenly.
Next: Wash 12 sweet peppers and slice them length-wise, but not all the way through.  Pull the seeds out from the center.  Now stuff the pepper with the farmer’s cheese mixture.
Place peppers on an aluminum covered grill and BBQ them until tender.  Be careful when flipping them lest the cheese contents fall out.  This recipe works with hot peppers too.  I just don’t understand why anyone would want to eat something that makes me feel like I am on fire.
